    UPDATE

All! Ever wanted to just see the attachments in our forum? On occasion I have received requests for this, but it was of course quite impossible in the Lefora world. Well no more! With our new home we can do all kinds of things!

Tonight I have installed another plugin that allows you to view the attachments only. In addition, you can rate them with 1 to 5 stars, depending on how much you like them. The procedure to view only attachments is quite simple too:

    1) Scroll up to the navigation bar which is located at the top of any of our webpages
    2) Click on the "Community" drop down button -> This will cause a drop down box to appear
    3) Select "Attachment Gallery"

Then just have fun looking at our attachments! Hope everyone likes this feature.

    Thanks!

    UPDATE

Gang- I found another plugin that seemed kinda neat, so I imported it tonight as well. If you click on the "Forum" button in our navigation bar at the top of our webpages, you will be taken to what is known as "forum home" or the forum home display webpage. If you scroll to the bottom, you will see a dialog/widget/section that is entitled "What's Going On?" -> under this section I added a sub-section that lists all users who have visited our forum within the past day - cool!

In the end, it is just a gee-whiz kind of statistic but I thought it was neat enough to include. Please let me know what you think of these changes ... I would greatly appreciate any and all feedback as I try to make our new home that much more "comfy" and easy-to-use, while at the same time fulfulling some long-time requests from users that were simply impossible in the old forum.

    Thanks!

    UPDATE

Ok all- I have spent several hours this afternoon continuing to clean up the articles forum. As of today we have 8 pages of articles when viewed using our way-cool article viewing plugin and after scrolling through them several times they appear to be in good shape now.

Again, if you find anything here or elsewhere within the forum that needs some work, please let me know. I'm trying to get the forum in tip-top shape even though it's a lot of work to do so.

    Thanks!

    UPDATE

Everyone- I have spent the better part of two nights porting some code that will display the most recent articles on our forum's splash page. If you navigate to http://www.russiancarclub.com/ and look to the right side of the page you will see a module titled "Recent Articles". This is new to us and new to the vB world, as it didn't exist for our version of vBulletin prior to me porting/developing/testing the code.

So let me know what you think! I'd like feedback!

And alexandr- any news? How are you doing?

    Best to all!

    UPDATE

    All-

I have been working with several of you off-and-on regarding the structure of the model-specific portion of our forum. Based on the input I have received to-date I have made a slight change to this structure. I have moved the general discussion forums into a category entitled "Russian Car Discussion" in order to separate them from their model-specific counterparts.

I then moved the model-specific forums into their own category which is entitled "Russian Cars". This will provide good separation between the two general topics while allowing users quicker access to the information that they are interested in the most.

Please let me know what you think of the change. I am quite interested in your feedback. You can also send feedback to lembit as well.

    Thanks!

    UPDATE

    All-

I have enabled the RSS feed from our forum! I don't use RSS much myself, but if you are into that, it is now available. The link to our RSS webpage is:

    http://www.russiancarclub.com/forum/....php?type=RSS2

I've asked Lembit to chime in with further information, as he is more up-to-speed with RSS than I am.

    Thanks!

Thank you for doing that Dmitri. And if Yugoman (that Yahoo group's leader) gives you any crap, just remind him that I allowed him to have one free shamless plug for his group on our forum. Reciprocity should be applied to your post in their group regarding our forum.

    UPDATE

This is from Lembit regarding RSS feeds:

Think of it as "A quick and dirty summary of the latest threads" but, as it is in xml format, it can be easily parsed and presented either by syndicating into other sites or call up directly in latest Outlook, iPhone RSS reader, etc.

Attached is the presentation of it in my iPhone RSS reader.

I've included the screen capture of his iPhone display for reference.

    Thanks!
