Well a lot more than I thought, while researching the import
process, and simultaneously searching for my Pobeda, I've come across a few
Russian cars that were already here, and since the Volga seems to be the most
popular Russian import lets start with the .
I'll be mentioning names and posting pictures that were already published either
in magazine or newspaper articles or by the owners themselves. Lets start with Gary
Shikhman' s Volga in , by the way that is
not the only Volga in .

There is also a Volga in

    There is also a M21 in ,
check out the owner's website http://myrussiancars.com/ he has a Pobeda also

Vitaly Yazvin of Irvine California owns a 1967 , I don't have pictures of it

And this car recently appeared in my town, I got a chance to
see and touch the car in person

    Hey Maxmermer,
Thanks very much for a great post.
These cars are so common to me now in Russia but when I see English lettered signs near them they look strange and out of place.
    That white 2410 is fantastic.
I see all the cities and states now.
    Thanks again
    Kyle

Thanks again, Max. The light green one is an I series, and that dark green car is gorgeous!

    Hi Max,

Ok I must admit to being a bit confused. So I'm gonna ask, though it almost seems like you're being a bit secretive about it all...just how did you go about getting your Pobeda to California? Also you mentioned a 2 year search for it and also about doing some research on importing; even asking me about my stuff in a different thread, but not offering anything in return. So I'm curious: what's the deal with that? Are you done with one Russian car or are you looking to get another? Fill us in on the details! :-)

no secrets what so ever, my Pobeda has been in the States since 1952, I found the car in Ohio, had the car shipped to California end of story. Mark asked me to do a write up on my search and that is what I've been busy doing, I'm also working on a little video clip to go along so it's taking a while, plus I try to post on this forum regularly so I've been pretty busy lately,
I never got to the importing stage, that's why I asked, when I discovered that my Pobeda could still be around, I abandoned the import idea, and focused on the search. I asked you about importing because I got a chance to talk to some people without a translator or a middleman, and the quotes ranged from $800 from Petersburg and $6000 from Vladivostok for shipping alone, you can see why I asked, I will start a new thread about importing and hopefully the information I came across will help you
